Since I'm 6'1" and 200#, and the Wherry now says it is "for 180# and lighter", I'm selling my wherry. It has been in the water only 3 times, and I haven't finished painting and varnishing it. Otherwise, it is complete and comes with an anchor, oars, and oarlocks. I'm in Madison WI. The boat is available for $1125, the cost of the kit. Save yourself many months of building, and enjoy rowing a Wherry!

Are you sure you have not made a mistake on the Wherry capacity everything I have says a 350# payload and just for kicks I ran the dimensions into my design software and although the design of course is not an exact copy it shows 365# load capacity I know the web site still claims 350# so I have to believe this is a mistake I purchased a kit about 5 yrs ago second hand and built it I currently weigh about 210 and it sits on its water lines almost perfectly when I am aboard just thought you had a little misinformation hate to see you give up such a awesome boat cfoxwoodboats.com

Even if this stuff was supposed to be exact, the boat does not know the extra 20 pounds is coming from the paddler and not from gear on board when it is capacity rated for well above 300 pounds. I doubt anyone is loading the boat with 150 pounds of gear, I would not worry about being 20 pounds heavier. Seems a waste to me to sell the boat for this reason.
