MC 16.5 as single?

Please tell me how this works for seating and footbraces: How are the footbraces to be installed to enable the option of paddling solo as well as with 2 people? Assuming I don;t want to lug excess "dummy" weight in the front when paddling solo, how do I relocate the seat forward and still have the use of the footbraces - if the are set to accomodate the seat placement far back in the cockpit aft? What works here?
