Yesss... stay away from edges with power sanders; it is the fastest way known to mankind for removing epoxy and fiberglass from wood! I shoulda included that for sure!! Thank you, Lee. Hand sand edges. Yup, yup, yup.

One other note: Steve Miller does prettier, more methodical finish work than I do, so might wanna take that into consideration whenever comparing our respective advices. He led the way for me through my first boat building project, and I owe much of my success to him.
