Foam brushes leave more bubbles than a good natural bristle brush. Try to only brush in one direction. Dry to wet. Do not go back and forth. That will help. You can also add an ounce or two (per qr) of Penetrol to the varnish to help it flow better and hold a wet edge longer. That will reduce bubbles. I would not varnish without it.
