Chris, I know it's a bit of "closing the door after the horse is out", but I stapled my spreader in place with 5/8" Arrow staples until time to put in the deck beam.
It would seem to me that if the shear has been re-glued and clamped, you should be OK. Let it cure fully, put your spreader back in and keep on stitching.
