If you're not painting, don't plan on the cloth hiding anything. I wrote a reminder note in my cockpit area, and it's still there fully legible. It will certainly make IDing the boat easy.

From 3 feet away you won't see the wires except with a builder's eye. It is surely not worth trying to fill them.
