Ches Double Max Payload
Posted by Mike M. on May 26, 2004
The chart here on the CLC site says max payload of 700 lbs for the chesapeake double. I think I'm going to test that one out. Just gave the boat a dry run, seeing if I can fit all my gear for 2 people in the double. Got it all in except for food, beer and clothes. Lifted one end...Woah. Really heavy. Combined paddler weight of about 330 lbs + boat weight approx 70 lbs + gear near 200 lbs (guesstimate) = 600 lbs. + food/water/beer/wine and my hammock....
Anyone ever loaded one of these up?
This is going to be so much fun!
Will post results if I don't sink her ;)
