Nails?Help

I tried installing the deck without nails. I wrestled with the deck and finally used nails. Which I really didn't want to do.I have two questions. How can I cover the nails before finishing the deck? Or remove them? Also I made good contact to the sheer clamps. However there is some small gaps at the sheer line. Does this compromise the strength? I can easily fill with epoxy.Thanks for your help.
