sticky side tape & epoxy
Posted by Dennis Rioux on Jun 3, 2004
Will the sticky side of clear packing tape stick to epoxy? I have a test going on in the garage but I am too impatient to wait, so I thought I would bother you with (yet) another question. I want to do some onlays to mask the deck tip scarf and butt joints on the deck. Posts in the archives say to just tape the pieces down after applying slightly thickened epoxy to the backs. So no plastic layer required in there between the tape and the veneers? It'd be nice if it did not stick because I want to do a multipiece pattern and I could hold it all together with tape. Anyway, thanks in advance for sharing your collective wisdom.
