Automotive clear coat??

Everyone on this board has been very helpful to me in choosing a boat, so let me pose my second question. . .

Has anyone out there use an automotive two-part urethane clear coat on their boat? I've got a background in autobody, and the stuff's pretty durable. I also know that many guitar makers use these clears on their guitars. Just curious if anyone's done it, and what their results were.

I've got a gallon of some excellent dupont stuff (not cheap) and I'd love to use it.
