Rob,
I too carved a minicell seat (not brilliant on my part - came with my kit), and it seems to be fine in the sciatica area.
I'll start with the stretching as well. My doctor said "Lucky you, you have sciatica" and sent me home. You're the first one I've heard with a suggestion other than "Live with it"
