In our very rocky summer paddling grounds, we drag the boats by the bow handle if they are loaded, as neither of us can lift more than 30 lbs or so. If the boats are light, we pick up each end and carry them ashore.
Installing brass rub strips on the keel ends helps a heap with the dragging.
