Just so happens I just finished a CH16. I'm about 5'7" and 180 pounds (never mind, Kurt!). Plenty of room. Not as much as my WS Manteo plastic boat, but totally comfortable.
Best way to be sure is go paddle it. You wouldn't want to buy it without trying it regardless.
