Wing Paddles
Posted by Mac on Jun 21, 2004
Good Morning Hi Tech Paddlers from lo tech duffer.
Just watched an excellent video on the Forward Stroke by Brent Reitz -and of course, I'm doing everything wrong as usual.
At the end of the tape, Brent explains the Wing Paddle, and I was wondering what our collective experience was with this weapon. I can't see myself using one, but the gung ho youngsters might get a kick out of it.
Brents says the catch has zero slip, and while the blade wants to "fly" outwards a bit, it increases forward pull and sets the torso up for the next rotation. "Can't possibly be an arm paddler with a wing paddle".
Thoughts?
Happy Summer to all.
