Kurt, I agree. There's nothing like a good visual, so I thought I'd take a crack at it. :-)

BTW, that's the scarfing step of my wife's new 16LT-to-be. She tried one out at Okuomefest and loved it. Since there's a milestone birthday coming up, I offered to build her one and she accepted. So last Saturday I started construction. (and then looking around my shop I spotted the large prop - why does he have a plastic butt in his boat shop? - and the devil made me set up the photo).
