I used to have some intimidation about sharpening things, until I twisted my arm into learning how to do it. I used the old oil stone method. If you don't have the 10 minutes of time and patience, you could accomplish a lot with a few seconds use of an electric bench grinder. If done correctly, you can get all of your toys very very sharp very very quickly.
