I like the idea of having a cockpit just long enough to comfortably fit legs and rudder controls for the safety factor of having less water on board when I go bottom up. Unfortunately I arrived at this conclusion after fitting the front bulkhead as per the plans for my CH17, so now have two front bulkheads, the forward one will have a central cutout to allow for extra storage but will also act as a deckbeam. Oh well, my next one will be lighter.
