Re: Poplar

Poplar is supposed to be vulnerable to rot and unsuitable for boats.
On the other hand, the 150 year-old farmhouse my wife & I owned in Ohio in the 90's still had the original poplar siding.
My thought is that the unsuitablity applies to clinker-built and such like boats, not epoxy-encapsulated, fiberglass-covered modern boats.
I'd use it.
