The use of silica should be done with extreme caution (respirator). My boatshop won't or can't stock it because of the risks of Silicosis. I use wood flour for gluing and filleting on their reccomendation. Gloves should definately be used when using epoxy. I have been guilty of not using them sometimes and I always regret it and as mentioned, it would be terrible if you became sensitised and couldn't build anymore
