there's an identical one (except for length) in the main mast step also. They are pinned through with a wooden pin so they stay put when trailering.

Here's a pic of that one, showing the "key" that holds them in.

I also have supports back on the stern deck that straddle the tiller and hold each mast alongside it, but I don't seem to have a picture showing that.
