Talk about positive reinforcement - thanks for that.
As for the other type of positive reinforcement - popsicle sticks in the joints - my only experience thus far has been to use a few as wedges (as per the manual) to help fair the keel line, particularly between the bulkheads.
As for the wires, I left them in, in the end, primarily due to my concern that the panels might spring as I transitioned from wires to tabs. It seemed like the appropriately conservative route for a rookie.
