Re: Dixie cup blues
Posted by Mark Camp on Sep 21, 2005
I use Dixie cups, haven't had any problems with it setting up. Don't know about bumps and wax, haven't noticed either one, generally don't let the stuff get hot in the cup, which may be why. I dump it ASAP, using sheet of flat ply or plastic as a pallet if need be. I've used small Solo plastic cups (tough, soft translucent whitish plastic that forms white scars when bent) which have no recycling logo on the bottom but appear to be HDPE (same as milk jug, recycling logo "2"). They also have worked but they are attacked by epoxy hardener if it is left in them for a few days. Dixie cups are also attacked by hardener.
