When to trim deck glass

Got the deck glass on the WR18 this evening and plan on getting two fill coats on tomorrow, morning and evening. Now, when is it best to trim the edges? Before the fill coats or after?

I was expecting to have to cut the deck cloth on the diagonal but was pleasently surprised to find 18+ feet of 38 inch wide cloth - no diaginal cutting.
