Pgymy vs CLC
Posted by John Faas on Oct 1, 2005
Does anyone have direct experience with both Pygmy and CLC boats? I began with Pygmy, maybe because they are on the West coast or what ever. A man in my town is very happy at how the construction went, he has a lot of whitewater experience. I guess one of my issues is the sheer clamp vs the glue and glass/tape for hull to deck joint.
Now that I have actually paddled a Shearwater the choice has to do with a boat I've been in and one that I have only seen in a booklet. Still any thoughts would be welcomed. By the way I am 5'3" weigh between 155 and 185 (no negative comments plz, I am sensitive for a fat short guy) and virtually no hands on experience building anything. Would love to do a week long tour off coast of Mexico, but harbors and lakes more likely for a while. I've taken a half day class and think I can do a wet exit when I need to.
