Thanks for the tips Terry.
When I said strip I meant sand, I hadn't thought of a chemical stripper. I will look into it for the hull.
I was planning to take the deck down to wood because there was never any glass on the deck, and it has many cracks/scratches in the finish that have discolored the wood from years of exposure. I am hand sanding the edges as to not wear through the top layer of wood. It's pretty easy to see as I sand through the varnish, then epoxy.
I have noticed that it's nearly impossible to get to the finish around the nail heads because they are slightly sunk. Will this show when I glass and epoxy over it?
