Speaking from my personal experience, no one will ever look at those lines as closely as you will, and most of the time you won't either. As long as it's smooth enough to lay the fiberglass sheet over the edge smoothly you've done it right.

Unless of course you like spending a lot of time on little details in which case with about 30 hours with some 200 grit paper you might get it near to perfect. No one will notice when you are out paddling in the beautiful thing, and the water sure dosen't care.
