Regarding a one-masted alternate rig for John's Sharpie, contact Charlie Jones. He's a professional yacht builder who has built, sailed, and modified this particular design, and has also given thought to a single-mast alternative rig. My understanding is that the Sharpie is a bit tender in gusts and heavy airs.
