Building light
Posted by TB on Jan 25, 2006
Alright,
i'm just finishing a CH17LT for myself and need to build my wife a boat. She wants the lightest thing possible so here's what i'm thinking:
CH16LT doing smaller fillets and minimal end pours, but am also thinking of changing the glass layup to this: Deck 3oz Eglass satin weave Hull 4oz Sglass satin weave
I was also thinking of using some 5oz kevlar for the cockpit, but this would be more for show than anything. I'm also thinking of doing the coaming in carbon/kevlar instead of wood.
Anyone have an opinion on this and any other ideas for saving weight? The goal is to have something light and unique!!! Thanks.
