Heres a link to a picture of what I did to the deck beam of my WR18. Drilled a series of holes thru it, reduced its weight from 4.51 oz to 2.85 oz. Twop coats of expoxy didn't get it back to it original weight of 4.51 oz.

Its not much of a savings, but you have to get what you can.
