But note, with an unmodified wirecutter, I don't think my idea would work. It needs someone who is handy with metalworking and has the right tools to figure out how to put a tiny curve into the cutter, right where it cuts through the wire.
To get a picture of it: if the wire was made of cookie dough, you could put a round end on it if you had a cookie cutter with a very small radius curve in it. The curve in the cookie cutter would have to be concave, so that the "wire" would end up with a convex rounded end.
