Bob,
It's as Lee says, it depends on which boat you're building. Also, your .025" hole leaves 40% more wood than a 1/16" hole, so it probably resists the wire better.
So why are you using such fine wire? And do you take it out after the fillets are in? If not, have you had any problems with it eating sanding pads, or rusting?
