Make sure there isn't an excess of cured epoxy on the underside of the deck where the deck scarf is,,a thick amount of cured epoxy on the joint will prevent the curve from continueing. One thing that also helps is to put a damp cloth over the spot for about 30minutes where the deck tends to flatten, it'll make the deck bow out at that spot enough to make the minideck beam unnecessary.
