I built the Chessie 17 lt; I really like the boat, but today, I'd choose the AH. From my perspective, 'speed of build' isn't a consideration; I LOVED the time I spent building that kayak, and was a bit sad when it was completed (but found condolence in starting the second boat...). I've not built the AH; anything you read about it is very positive, however, and the build manuel is reportedly first rate. But whichever you choose, GET GOING! (times a' wastin'...)
