It helps to see loose things with a light interior and not a dark one. Especially at dusk or with thick cloud cover.

On a couple boats I applied a white tinted fill coat on the bottom panels then one coat of paint on top of that. It actually looks good with the wood sides. What looks bad is a thick wavy 3" piece of 9oz tape with a raised edge on one side with glass cloth over that where bubbles allow sand and dirt to get trapped inside permanently.
