Re: stain

I use aniline dye, whether water- or alcohol-based, on the pieces before assembling. Use a sponge to apply thin coats over finish-sanded and dust-free pieces; do not let puddles form, as aniline dye will stain much darker in greater concentrations. Then apply a thin sealing coat of epoxy over it to protect the piece until it is assembled into the finished position.
