When I glued the spacers on, I lined up the spacers at the center line and clamped them (with a plastic covered pad under the clamp) at the center line front and back. I then walked the clamps out to the sides a few inches per clamp. Had no problem keeping things lined up. I got a little bit of seperation (less than 1/8th) between the top spacers at the front over the deck beam where the bend is greatest but that was easy to fill with epoxy and wood flour. Hard to see now.
Bottom line, even a big boo boo can be filled and filed and it will still paddle great.
