4oz vs 6oz Glass

Hi Experts!

Trying to keep the weight of a non-critical assembly down to a minimum, and am about to try to convince my client (nephew) that thinner cloth and subsequent epoxy fill is one way to go.

This got me to thinking - ow! How much strength am I actually giving up? Is 4oz two thirds of 6oz? Or, in other words, 1/3 less strong?

After two or three builds, I bet a lot of us have quite a bit of thinner cloth left over from covering our decks, and I'm wondering where it can be safely used on subsequent projects.
