Wet sanding and masks
Posted by Peter on Jul 12, 2006
As I add additional coats of varnish to my nearly completed Passagemaker dinghy, it occurred to me that I didn't need to wear my respirator mask any more during the between-coat wet sanding sessions. Am I right in thinking this? It has become such a habit to wear the thing whenever I sanded the boat, but I reasoned now that I am sanding outside in a breeze, and the wet sanding seems to trap any dust that is generated, it would be o.k. to take the thing off. Can anyone confirm this is safe to do?
