wire
Posted by Flip on Jul 16, 2006
I'm working on a 17LT. Keel line on bottom has been wired and I am now drilling the holes and wiring side to bottom. However, what do I do with the nibs that are on the bottom, about 2 3/4" from the bow and 2" -3" aft of the scarfs? Do I cut them off or leave them? There are also nibs on the top, about 1 3/4" from the back.
Also, is there some special way to do the wiring? I find the only way I can do it is to lie on my back on the floor and put the wire in from the bottom to the top. The reason I mention this is, it appears, the manual has one drill the holes and put the wire in the bottom of the top about the same time you are doing the keel. I missed that and had to go back.
I also found it next to impossible to drill holes 1/4" from the front of the bottom section to place the 'staple'. Anyone else ever have this problem.
Just some questions from a 1st-timer with no other resources that is an avid reader of this forum.
