Yes but. I HATE silicone

on boats. I know that for some things it's a necessary evil, but I use it reluctantly. Silicone is FOREVER. Once you put it on a surface re-painting becomes difficult.

Personally I use 3M 4200 or the new 4000 ( replaced 101). I use silicone ONLY on plastic parts which may be harmed by other caulks, such as plastic ports.

JUst my opinion as a builder and boat repair person.
