(related) cardboard Kayak
Posted by Eric on Jul 24, 2006
I built a cardboard Kayak, a copy of the Chesapeake 16, but with a slightly larger cockpit. This was done for the first annual Cardboard Boat race in our small town of Medford,Or. The short story is that we won the race, four laps in an Olympic size pool. Our boat was fast, duct tape and cardboard only.Unfortunatly, a city councilman was in the second place boat, and changed the rules after the actual 4 lap race. He had the officials say the boats needed to be put back in the water to see which on floated the longest. The councilmans boat floated longer..We won the race but politics beat us out of the blue ribbon. Looks like you can't beat city hall after all..
