And here we have the beauty of the CLC designs. With sufficient care & fiddling the lengths will match, but if the builder has other things to care about and has enough fiddling, a little sanding & rasping will still yield a good-looking, well-performing boat. It's sort of like the difference between the builders who spend weeks & months on a coffee table finish vs. the workboat finish latex painters or (shudder!) guys like me who are known to leave things at the bare lumpy epoxy stage for a year just to get onthe water sooner.
