Paddle float re-entry

Can anyone refer me to a web site, book, instructional DVD, etc that explains the paddle float re-entry technique. My wife & I typically kayak in Central Florida rivers where it is frequently shallow enough to stand up, or easy enough to get to shore. I hate to count on that always being the case, however, and we would like to learn the technique. I dutifully installed the hour glass shaped bungee cord behind the cockpit of our Chessies -- which I think is part of the re-entry system -- but I don't know quite how they are used. Thanks, Jim L
