Re: Rack Options

I would prefer the V shaped saddles, as they would fit the keel line better for a hard chined boat. The ones I had worked well and were very solid. I don't think the Hull-A-Port gives that great of support (I have a pair of them I use when carrying three boats around). I also don't think the 878's work well for a hard chine boat. I have a friend that drags his EFT around with the Hull-A-Ports and loves it. I have another friend who tours the state of Fla. With a 21 foot Mako Millenium on a corolla, using the 878's. The Vtype saddles will best support your keel line and using something like a rachet strap front and rear should give you adequate support. I am very unhappy with Thule at the moment, but don't want to tell you not to use them. I was unhappy with Yakima after the previous vehicle that I set up for Kayak/canoe moving.
