Paint and varnish

Hi all,

Well, the wife's Mill Creek is ready for paint on the hull and a varnished deck and cockpit... She has decided on a glossy dark green hull and a glossy varnished deck... I was looking at my old buddy Interlux, but I know there's new stuff out there...

Any thoughts on paint brands, application techniques, primers, etc?
