Tim, I would check your roof rack especially if it's a factory one. I picked up a set last month and they are very secure. I also have a set of thule hull-a-ports and the autoloders are much more secure, no movement at all. I have a yakima rack mounted on top of my Tundra doublecab and I believe the spacing is around 40". I plan on getting another set of autoloaders next spring, they are a perfect fit on CLC kayaks.-Joey
