I know the C-Dory pretty well.
Generally speaking, the Eastport pram is a very stiff boat and as long as it's strapped down tight with a bit of padding it'll never come to harm at C-Dory speeds. I think mine gets used harder at the dinghy dock every week than what you'd see on the stern of your boat.
The only Eastport that I'm aware of suffering serious structural damage was one whose painter got sucked in the props of a large trawler. The props took it to pieces...
