Re: Fiberglassing the SW
Posted by Dave Houser on Oct 16, 2006
I found it does not work well for me to place cloth on top of wet or semi-set epoxy. The cloth sticks an the wrinlkles cannot be easily smoothed out.
Wetting too much of a stack can cause wetting problems so make sure the room, boat and epoxy are warm enough.
Doing a layer a day works but take more time and uses a little more epoxy than wetting a stack of cloth. For a first time wet out I would suggest a layer at a time. Scrape any runs or bumps the next day. And use a non-blushing epoxy so you can add another layer (or fill coat) the next day without having to sand.
