17LT OR 18 LT

Hello all,

I recently purchaced a book titled Stitch and Glue Boat building. Inside it has plans for the Chessapeak 17 LT and the Chessapeak 18 LT. and the NorthBay. I weigh 230 lbs and am 5'9. I am mostly interested in day padling in the ocean.

Any recomendations as to which one I should build. I checked out the reviews on another website.

I don't see the 18 lt on clc website anymore has it been phased out? I would appreciate any comments or words of wisdom.
