I did airbrush on heavy silky paper, same stuff they use for surfboard artwork. The fish is on the bow of my WR18. Found that just running it thru the printer I had, left it kinda an opaque and the grain of the wood would have shown thru. Not what I wanted.
Do some tests, before hand to see how it would look. More so if you are using colors, under epoxy and varnish, white might look tan, bright yellow my look like mustard yellow, and so on.
I put the artwork under the cloth. The link shows more pictures of the process.
